This is the concerned body in the administration of the bank which has all the powers except those tasks given by the General meeting. Presently the Board of Directors consists of ten members, eight of whom are elected by the general meeting and the other two are appointed by the Board of Directors on the basis of good qualifications, experience and specialization in economics, administration and Islamic laws for its smooth running and facilitating performance of its powers. As some of the members reside outside the Sudan, the Board of Directors in its first has established a committee of resident members in the Sudan to perform some powers defined by the Board in its first meeting after its establishment.  From time to time the Board of Directors forms committees from its members for permanent assignments or for limited periods. It is worth mentioning that the Board used to consist of fifteen members.
