Approved capital: 400,000,000 Sudanese pounds
Paid capital: 67,754,950 Sudanese pounds
The experience of Islamic banks during the last decade of
the previous century has taken deeper roots and firmness
after its spread in many of the Islamic countries. This has
given room to Muslims to lift the embarrassment in their
banking dealings away from the illegal system of the rate of
interest which was prevalent in the traditional banks and to
contribute considerably in the development of those banks;
also to offer different services to the different Muslim
sectors according foundations and materials free of illegal
dealings.
Accordingly the Tadamon Islamic Bank was established within
that system not only to contribute practically to the
experience but to contribute effectively in the
authentication of the Islamic Banking dealings and in the
spread of this thought internally and externally through
different means.
The Bank assumed its duties in March 1983 in the Sudan under
extremely difficult economic complications and within the
bewilder ness of the traditional banks with respect to the
banking activities in the Sudan. But praise to God and His
power the Bank has successfully achieved good reputation
internally and externally.
